Will the Yankees end the season as the best team in baseball?
New York has one the best rosters of veteran and young talent in the league. The Yankees are leading the American League in home runs. Aaron Judge has been a monster at the plate, smashing 13 home runs to lead the Majors with one other batter. Not only that, their young pitching has been solid, ranking third in the American League in ERA.
Plus, the last time the Yankees had the best record at this time in 2003, they ended the season tied for the best record in baseball and went to the World Series. Expect to see a lot of pinstripes in the October.
I keep looking at the Yankees schedule and I just don't see a loss on there. They will never lose again, you heard it here first.
The MLB season is long and full of terrors. It’s not a question of if the Yankees will hit a slump, but a question of when. New York had a similar record in 2015, going 19-11 in their first 30 games and leading the AL East. They would slip to second place in the AL East, make the Wild Card round, and lose in the one-game playoff.
Rarely do teams have the best record at this juncture of the season, and end the season in the same position. This Yankees team isn’t that special.
@MLB@Yankees Single digit losses? That must mean it's way too early to worry about how many losses you have
