Will golf succeed or fail with its return to Olympics? | The Tylt
Golf is back at the Olympics, but is it by popular demand? The sport will return to the Olympics on Aug. 11 for the first time since 1904. While some fans are rooting for the sport at the Olympics, critics say that golf isn't a sport worthy of the Olympics.
Meanwhile, golf superstar Rory McIlroy backed out—leaving some to argue that the sport lacks the star power to make a strong return to the Olympics. But not all the champions are gone. Golfers like Rickie Fowler are happy to play and are focused to win!
Golf might succeed at the Olympics with the infrastructure built for it. But it might fail because some feel Rio isn't the right city, overall, to host the Olympics let alone have it be the host city for the return of golf.
But what do you think?
