If there's anyone on the planet that's more fish than mammal, it is Michael Phelps. The man holds dozens of world records, and has nearly 2 dozen gold medals in his trophy case. That kind of hardware not only shows talent, but also competitiveness.

Phelps won't let himself get beat by a scaly, lungless creature. It doesn't matter that sharks literally need to swim to eat. If Phelps is racing anyone or anything in water, he will win.

Phelps merely adapted to the water. Sharks were born in it. Molded by it. Phelps thinks he's going to race against a creature whose entire anatomy is built around swimming fast and win? He’s even more delusional than Bane thinking he was going to score with Talia al Ghul.

The only way Phelps wins against a shark is in a foot race on land. Sharks are machines when they are hunting, and their acceleration going after prey would give them the advantage even if Phelps could go 100 percent for 100 meters. Phelps isn't even the best sprinter in the world, and even those faster than him would get crushed by a shark in a race. There is a reason we evolved to become land mammals. It's because sharks are king of the sea.
