The Golden State Warriors have romped their way through the Western Conference, sweeping all the way to the NBA Finals. But is anyone really surprised? Even with Steve Kerr missing for most the playoffs, the team has meshed seamlessly and is peaking in playoffs.

Stephen Curry has stepped up his play in the postseason, leading the team with 28.6 points per game. Even though Klay Thompson is struggling to shoot, Draymond Green’s overall brilliance and Kevin Durant's superstar scoring have carried the Warriors to a perfect playoff record.

The Cavaliers had the luxury of rolling through a weak Eastern Conference. Cleveland got a lucky win against the Warriors this season with a sweet shot by Kyrie Irving, but in a seven-game series, there is no way the Cavaliers can keep up with the Warriors or crack their elite defense. Golden State was one win from a NBA title last year. Kevin Durant guarantees the organization has enough to talent to withstand any heroics from LeBron James.

The Larry O’Brien Trophy returns to the Bay this year.

Another year, another NBA Finals where LeBron James is the underdog. That’s okay. Keep picking against him. It won’t be the first time James and the Cavs defy the odds.

The Golden State Warriors can keep adding pieces, but they can’t make up for the best player on the planet. James is having another incredible postseason, surpassing Michael Jordan for the most total career playoff points. James is averaging 32.5 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, looking unstoppable every minute he plays. Throw in Kyrie Irving playing with tremendous touch and confidence, and Kevin Love playing his best basketball, and you have a team that is ready to shock the world again.

The Warriors have been lights out, but they haven’t truly had to battle back from adversity. If they get punched in the mouth hard by Cleveland, Golden State could fold just as easily as they did last year. As well as Mike Brown has done stepping in for Steve Kerr, it’s unclear whether he can make the necessary adjustments in crunch time when the game gets tight.

Go ahead and pick the Warriors to win, sheeple. When the King comes out on top again, Cavs fans will rejoice in saying they told you so.
