Will Bryce Harper stay with the Washington Nationals? | The Tylt
Another year, another first round exit for the Washington Nationals. The organization's World Series hopes were dashed after Bryce Harper struck out for the final out in a decisive Game 5, leaving doubt as to where he'll go when he hits the free agency market in 2018. He’s had a lot of individual success with the Nationals, and the team is built to win now. Still, there are other places that may offer him more opportunities to be a part of a championship team. What do you think? ⚾
Will Bryce Harper stay with the Washington Nationals?
Bryce Harper has literally fought for this team. This organization has his back, and that kind of loyalty is hard to come by. The Nationals might not have broken their NLDS curse, but it doesn't mean they won't in the future. Pitching aces Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer are locked down, and the team has a roster of talented hitters to protect Harper.
With Jayson Werth coming off the books, Washington has more space to accommodate Harper's new contract and can field a player with better defense to help the team win. The Nationals have all the pieces to win for a while. Harper would be foolish to leave.
The Nationals are a loser organization. They proved that by choking away another division series despite having one of the more complete teams in the National League. Washington is going nowhere, and Harper needs to jump ship as soon as possible.
The New York Yankees advanced to the ALCS with a roster that was supposed to be a .500 team at best. Imagine how they would do if they added Harper, an admitted Yankees fan before joining MLB.
Harper deserves better than languishing with a team that shows no ability to win when it matters most. He should leave the Nationals.
If you’re Bryce Harper, how do you not leave a cursed franchise for the blessed Yankees?— Jim Puzzanghera (@JimPuzzanghera) October 13, 2017
