If it's a foul in the regular season, it's a foul in the playoffs. It's as simple as that.

The NBA has been emphasizing a clean landing zone for all of its shooters, and the league needs to stay consistent on those calls. No one wants a star to be injured because a defender stepped into their space after a jump shot and caused a rolled ankle or a tweaked knee.

Harden is a star, but he should be given protection just like any other player. That should've been a foul call.

The lengths James Harden goes to get a foul call is insulting to everyone and anyone who loves basketball. It was only a matter of time before referees started swallowing their whistles and stopped giving Harden the benefit of the doubt.

Looking at the play, he throws his legs forward a couple of feet, hoping the ensuing contact will get the foul. It's not like Draymond Green tackled him after the jump shot. If there was any contact, Harden initiated all of it and it didn't warrant the call. The referees got this one right.

The Rockets got what they deserved.
