Is it time to bring back the XFL?

WWE CEO Vince McMahon has reportedly taken preliminary steps to restart the XFL, selling $100 million worth of WWE shares and buying several trademarks associated with the currently defunct league. The XFL was highly entertaining and would provide a great alternative to the declining NFL. Still, the XFL failed after just one season and there is no reason to think it would succeed now. What do you think? 🏈

The XFL was everything that the NFL wasn't. It was unabashedly violent, players had personality and, most of all, it was entertaining. The NFL has become a league of stiffs and unappreciative millionaires.

Having a monopoly has made the NFL lazy and apathetic to fan needs. What fans deserve is a brand of football that is real and gritty, a league where the players will go all out for the win. The NFL won't provide that, so why not the XFL?

People love to look back at the XFL through rose-colored lenses. The XFL wasn't a league of rebels and renegades, it was a league of professional rejects and subpar football.

The XFL only lasted one year because the players on the field were barely football players. It was a gimmick to make Vince McMahon richer and nothing more. All the XFL gave the public was bad football and why should anyone expect things to change this time around? The XFL should stay dead.
