Will the Stanley Cup come back to Canada in 2019? | The Tylt
It's been over 25 years since Lord Stanley's Cup has been hoisted by a Canadian team, and those teams fight tooth and nail every year to break the dry spell. This year, three Canadian teams are battling for the Cup, and many feel that this might be the year it comes back to Canada. Still, there are talented Canadian teams every year that falter and the cold streak continues. What do you think? 🏒
Will the Stanley Cup come back to Canada in 2019?
In this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs field, we have three Canadian teams. Two amassed at least 100 points (with the third getting 99) and one had the best record in the Western Conference. This is the year a Canadian team will lift the Cup.
Calgary has been dominant all season on both sides of the puck. Toronto has one of the most threatening offenses in the entire league, generating chances in every possible way. Winnipeg is incredibly dangerous in transition. One of these teams has the talent to take the entire tournament down.
It must be frustrating to love something so much only to have someone else have it and take it for granted. Canadians worship the Stanley Cup while the United States generally values it more lightly. This year will not be any different than the last 25 years for Canada.
The Jets, Maple Leafs and Flames have had good seasons, but nothing compares to the pressure of being a Canadian team competing for the Cup. The drought lives in everyone's mind, and those expectations will break teams eventually.
Canada's Cup cold streak will continue!
