There is no doubting that Sister Jean is a lovely human being whose spirit we should all attempt to emulate. But this is the NCAA Basketball Tournament, not the NCAA Sister Jean Tournament.

The media has eaten up everything Sister Jean does, but haven't covered the young men that actually put Loyola-Chicago on the map. Those guys deserve just as much attention and praise for taking a No. 11 seed to the Final Four. They shouldn't be brushed aside like they're the supporting cast. The media needs to dial down on the Sister Jean coverage.

Who knew NCAA basketball could be so pretentious. It's just a game! The best stories that come from sports are human interest-driven anyway, and Sister Jean has one hell of a story. She's a nun who has dedicated her life to her faith and the well being of the young men and women at Loyola-Chicago, a basketball fan who hypes the crowd with her spirit, and a civil-rights activist who fights for equality.

If anything, the media needs more coverage of Sister Jean to reach as many people as possible. Loyola-Chicago basketball's impact may not extend further than sports. Sister Jean can help the entire world.
