Should the Cincinnati Bengals bench Andy Dalton? | The Tylt
After another poor outing, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is under fire for the team’s offensive woes. Head coach Marvin Lewis says Dalton’s starting job is secure, but should it be? Dalton has been ineffective this year and led the team to a 6-9-1 record last season. However, Dalton is a Pro Bowl quarterback and needs the offensive line to improve their play for him to flourish. What do you think? 🏈
Should the Cincinnati Bengals bench Andy Dalton?
There is no other way to say it: Andy Dalton is a hot mess. In two games, Dalton has shown a complete inability to control the pocket, make good decisions or help the team win. His four-interception game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 is a preview of things to come for Dalton. Marvin Lewis needs to save his job, and start A.J. McCarron. Andy Dalton's time as a starting quarterback is over.
Time to fire Marvin Lewis and bench Andy Dalton— Fearless Lisp Luthor (@VirtuosoSports) September 15, 2017
People are blaming Andy Dalton like they forgot Cincinnati lost two Pro Bowl caliber lineman in the offseason. Dalton is making due with a new offensive line, and it shows with how much more pressure he's getting this season. Against the Baltimore Ravens, he had three flukey interceptions; only one interception in the end zone that was his fault. The problem with the Bengals isn't the three-time Pro Bowler. He's the guy Cincinnati needs to be on the field to lead the team.
