Whether LeBron James likes it or not, he is very Hollywood. People love him. People hate him. The game is so effortless for him that he laughs when defenders dare to stop him. That kind of swag belongs in Los Angeles.
The Lakers have talented players who just need one superstar to show them the way. D’Angelo Russell can concentrate on shooting, Julius Randle is only going to get better and Brandon Ingram will be the perfect sidekick for James. Throw in Lonzo Ball or whoever gets picked at No. 2 in the NBA Draft, and you have a team built to win in both the present and the future.
James is one of the most marketable athletes in the world. The opportunities in Los Angeles will expand his global reach even further. James has left Cleveland once before. Who’s to say he won’t do it again. For James, going to the Lakers could be the perfect marriage.
According to Jalen Rose: Lebron James wants to end his career in CA. It won't be in Sacramento nor the Clippers.....#StayTuned#Lakers
If winning matters to LeBron James, he will stay in Cleveland and continue to dominate the Eastern Conference with the Cavs' established roster of talent. Three NBA Finals appearances in three years is not something you leave.
The Lakers are improving, but they are still a couple years away from being ready to win. LeBron James already has stars and a coach who meld well together. Kyrie Irving has been the perfect complement to James’ game with his scoring, and Kevin Love spaces the floor better than any power forward in the NBA today. Throw in role players who are just happy to ride that train to the NBA Finals, and you have a team that can contend for years to come.
James is already a superstar who gets endorsement deals regardless of where he plays. Being the best player in the NBA affords that luxury. He doesn’t need to be in Los Angeles to get those deals. If James wants to continue winning, Los Angeles is not the place that will happen.
