Should Kyrie Irving leave the Cleveland Cavaliers? | The Tylt
According to reports, Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The move makes sense for Irving, who wants to be the alpha dog instead of a sidekick. However, Irving has been to three straight NBA Finals with the Cavs, and it might be silly to leave Cleveland—especially if James leaves next season. Patience, grasshopper. What do you think? 🏀
Should Kyrie Irving leave the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Kyrie Irving has blossomed into a legitimate all-star. His insane handle and ability to score make him one of the most dangerous players in the NBA. Irving can't live in LeBron James' shadow forever. He needs to lead his own team, and leaving Cleveland is the best way to do it.
LeBron James is not waiving his no-trade clause, so he wants to be in Cleveland no matter what reports are coming out. Irving will never get a chance to lead the Cavs if James stays. Irving needs to take his talents elsewhere.
Kyrie knows lebron gone after this season why not leave b4 the cavs hit rock bottom— Julio Lawrence (@barackobussa) July 24, 2017
A lot of NBA players have given up millions to play with LeBron James. Kyrie Irving wanting to leave makes no sense for him. If he's worried about legacy, no one bad-mouths Scottie Pippen for playing with Michael Jordan for the majority of his career. Irving has a chance to make an NBA Finals every year in Cleveland. He is choosing ego over rings.
If Irving wants his own team, it doesn't sound like he has to wait long if he stays in Cleveland. The rumors swirling around LeBron James' imminent departure in 2018 make it seem like he will be gone by next year, giving Irving the chance to lead. Why not go to another NBA Finals while he waits for that to happen? Kyrie should stay with the Cavaliers.
Kyrie has been my favorite since he was at Duke. Seeing him leave would devastate me.— Everything 216 (@Everything216) July 21, 2017
