Greatest tennis player of all time: Serena Williams or Roger Federer? | The Tylt
Serena Williams is known as the greatest woman to ever play tennis, but is she the greatest tennis player of all time? With "Battle of the Sexes" out in theaters, we're pitting Williams against Roger Federer in a modern clash in the same vein. Serena has won 23 Grand Slam championships, including one where she was pregnant. However, Federer is known as the greatest men’s player of all time, with a record 19 major titles on that side of the sport. Who is the 🐐? 🎾
Greatest tennis player of all time: Serena Williams or Roger Federer?
Has Roger Federer won a Grand Slam title while literally growing a human inside of him? No? Then he has no business being in the same zip code as Serena Williams.
After the Australian Open, Williams revealed she was pregnant during the tournament—a tournament she won. This added one more major championship to her very crowded trophy room. Her total is now up to 23, the most ever for both the men's and women's side.
Numbers don't lie, and neither does Williams' fierce competitive nature. She is the greatest tennis player ever.
Serena Williams is no doubt one of the greatest ever to step on a tennis court, but she never had the number of competitors coming for the top spot Roger Federer had. He somehow navigated charges from Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick and others to be at the top of his game consistently.
Federer may have less major championships than Serena with 19, but he had to deal with way more competition than Williams ever did. Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time, and it's not even close.
Roger Federer is surely the greatest player of all time now...— jimmy soixante-dix (@hotdog6969) September 24, 2017
