In their search for a franchise quarterback, the San Francisco 49ers may have found their man. San Francisco got Jimmy Garoppolo from the New England Patriots for a second-round pick, bringing in a talented quarterback that studied under Tom Brady, and threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns in two games last year. Still, Garoppolo is going to need a lot more help if the 49ers want to get out of the hole they’re in as a franchise. What do you think? 🏈

Quarterback is one of the most important positions on a football team. When that slot is filled by a quality player, a lot of things come together. The 49ers were desperately trying to get a franchise quarterback, and they got a good one in Jimmy Garoppolo. The former Eastern Illinois quarterback looked great when he was healthy filling in for a suspended Tom Brady last year. For a team that is 0-8 this year, they have at least found a piece they can build around in the future. San Francisco has found their savior.

As good as Garoppolo is, the 49ers aren't all of a sudden playoff contenders. The team may have a quarterback, but San Francisco still has a lot of problems it needs to resolve. The offensive line is still having trouble with protecting its quarterback, and that's a huge problem for Garoppolo who will be depending on it to give him some time to throw. They also don't have any weapons at the receiving position to get open consistently to make his job easier. The 49ers still have 99 problems, but at least quarterback isn't one.
