Can Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons win a championship together?
There's a reason the 76ers haven't been able to reach the conference finals with Embiid and Simmons as the main stars: their games don't quite sync up. Ben Simmons has shown a lack of desire to shoot jump shots in a game and wants nothing more than drive and kick. Embiid wants to slow things down and play from the post. Those styles cannot coexist.
In an era where spacing is the key to ultimate success, these two can't get it done in a seven-game series when a championship is on the line. The sooner they break them up, the better.
How can you look at a team with two All-Stars under 26 years old, made to the conference semifinals twice and think they need to make a change? Embiid and Simmons are a great foundation for the 76ers, building blocks they toiled for years at the bottom of the Eastern Conference for. They can make this duo work and build a team around them that will compete for a national championship. It's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when.
