Is Lonzo Ball a bust?

It appears Lonzo Ball has fallen out of favor in New Orleans, being relegated to the bench early in December. Ball is shooting 38.2 percent from the field, looking ineffective on offense and contributing to the Pelicans' 6-18 start. Ball was set up to have this be his breakout year, but his inability to play consistently has many fans labeling him a bust. Still, Ball is only 22 years old. He's shown improvement, and it's only a matter of time until he's a star. Is Ball already a bust? 🏀

Remember when people were saying the Lakers overpaid for Anthony Davis? Where are those people now?

Lonzo Ball was supposed to take the next step with no one holding back his development, but he hasn't been the star the Pelicans hoped he'd be. The team is struggling to stay out of the Western Conference basement and he hasn't been able to improve his offensive skills to a dominant level. The Pelicans have a better offensive and defensive rating with him off the court and his individual defense has never been worse in his three years in the NBA.

It's time to admit that Ball is a bust.

People act like being in the NBA less than three years at 22 years old determines your career. Please. Ball has plenty of time to prove himself and he's already shown very optimistic signs he will be a star.

He's shooting a career-high percentage from three-point range and the free-throw line, two areas he struggled with since his rookie year. He's also averaging more points per game and continues to show that his feel for the game is at an elite level with great passes and suffocating defense.

People love to hate and right off players quickly, but Ball is anything but a bust.
