Boston loves a winner and no team has exemplified that more than the Patriots. Since Bill Belichick took over in 2000, the Patriots have only missed the playoffs three times and won five Super Bowls. No matter how much the rest of the country hates their team for their success, fans just love the Patriots harder.

The Red Sox are a great franchise, but even though they play outside the city, Bostonians love the Pats more.

Whenever someone thinks of Boston, the Red Sox are the first thing that comes to mind. The Red Sox are the city of Boston, and their 118-year history in the city (125 years if you count their years as the Boston Americans) proves it.

Even when the team stunk and was in the midst of one of the longest title droughts in the history of sports, the city rallied around them, supporting the Red Sox with endless amounts of love. Now that the team has won four World Series championships in 15 years, Bean Town can't get enough of their baseball team.

The Red Sox will always be the most loved team of the city.
