The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducted Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis into the Hall's Class of 2018. Lewis was a legendary player for the franchise, but he was also charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of two men. With NFL players getting suspended for domestic abuse, some feel Lewis shouldn't even be eligible for the highest honor in football. Still, he was never convicted of murder and has been active in the community. What do you think? 🏈

Two men are dead and Ray Lewis was one of the central figures in their murder trial. With the NFL trying to repair its image after a couple years of domestic abuse videos and allegations, honoring Lewis is a mistake for the Hall of Fame and the league. Lewis may have redeemed himself in recent years by doing charity work and being a model teammate, but giving him this honor would be a black eye for the Hall.

Lewis took a plea deal to testify against the two other defendants. That doesn't determine if he's guilty or innocence. People still don't know what happened that night and exactly how much he was involved. He may be absolved legally, but allowing him in the Hall is a spit in the face of the stabbing victims' families who are still looking for the killer.

Lewis was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he already faced the music for his crimes. He pled guilty to lying to the police and served the punishment that was given to him. He is legally cleared of that charge, so his spot in the Hall of Fame should remain intact.

Lewis was one of the NFL's best defensive players. He played like every second was his last, and he was a locker room leader his entire career. He was also a leader off the field, starting a nonprofit foundation that gives personal and economic assistance to disadvantaged youths. There is nothing wrong with honoring him. Lewis belongs in the Hall of Fame.
