Should Carson Wentz still be considered for NFL MVP?

Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz is out for the season with a torn ACL, but at the time of his injury, he was arguably the best player in the NFL. He led the league in touchdowns and the Eagles to the best record in the NFC. Still, part of being MVP is staying healthy and helping your team win through the end of the season. Wentz won’t have that opportunity this year. What do you think? 🏈

When Carson Wentz went down, a collective groan came Eagles fans across the country.... because they knew their Super Bowl chances were dashed. That is how important Wentz is to the franchise. He led the NFL in touchdowns and was the driving force behind the Eagles' rise to the top the NFC. Wentz is the MVP of this season.

Wentz was definitely having an MVP-caliber season, but people don't win Most Valuable Player when they miss three games. The only person to do that was Joe Montana, and Wentz doesn't look like one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

There are other players who have stayed healthy that are more deserving of the awardslike Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger or Russell Wilson who are leading their respective teams to the playoffs. Better luck next year, Wentz.
