Should the New York Giants trade Odell Beckham Jr.?
No one is doubting Odell Beckham Jr.'s talent, but his antics over the past few seasons have been erratic and problematic. Between taking a vacation before an important playoff game or appearing to use drugs, Beckham has become a liability off the field. He is not worth the trouble or distraction he causes. He can infect another team. The Giants should trade him away.
Beckham is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. There is no way the Giants would be foolish enough to trade away a franchise cornerstone like him. Before he went down with a season-ending injury last year, Beckham was one of the most productive wideouts in the NFL, averaging 1,374 yards per season from 2014-2016.
He has outperformed his current deal and has earned the right to be one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league. The Giants wouldn't think twice about cutting him if he underperformed. They should reward him for three ultra-productive years. The Giants should keep Beckham.
