No matter what you do in the NFL, there is a constant question asked of every NFL player—what have you done for me lately? Eli Manning hasn't been doing much. Manning is supposed to the superstar that leads the New York Giants to wins. But the Giants are 2-9, and looking to the NFL Draft. New York is not a town to accept losing. Something had to be done, and a change in quarterbacks could ignite the team. The team has to try everything and anything to find a winning combination. Manning has to earn his spot on the field like everyone else. He deserved to be benched.
Giants head coach Ben McAdoo is destroying this team, and benching Eli Manning is the height of his stupidity. New York has been losing games, but Manning hasn't been the reason. Manning's performances under constant duress are nothing short of heroic. Without a competent offensive line or his full stable of skill players, he still threw for 2,411, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. If you want to point the finger at someone for the Giants' failure this season, it isn't Manning. He didn't deserve this.
