Miami Dolphin’s linebacker Kiko Alonso delivered a massive hit on Joe Flacco during Thursday Night Football that knocked the Baltimore Ravens quarterback out of the game. Many are calling Alonso’s hit dirty due to the full speed contact to Flacco’s head. Still, Flacco started his slide late, and Alonso didn’t have time to adjust to avoid the hit or make the hit safer. Here's a look at the play in question. Was Alonso's hit dirty?

Yeah, okay, Alonso. You were a "second late," and you had no time to pull up, right? He knew what he was doing. Alonso saw Flacco giving himself up, and still lunged at the Ravens quarterback to get the hit on him. That is a textbook dirty hit.

The NFL is a fast league. There are literally split seconds to make decisions that could mean a win or a loss. Flacco started his slide early, and Alonso looked like he was already in the process of make the tackle. There was no way he could've pulled up or adjusted his pad level to make it a legal hit. Flacco was unlucky, and Alonso's hit wasn't dirty.
