Did Jay-Z sell out by partnering with the NFL?

Rapper Jay-Z and the NFL are partnering up to improve entertainment presentations and strengthen the organization's ties to the community with the Inspire Change Initiative. Many are criticizing Jay-Z for essentially selling out former quarterback Colin Kaepernick, making millions of dollars while the player who used his influence to make a point sits at home, not playing football. Others think Jay-Z will do something with this platform and actually make good on this social activism effort. What do you think? 🏈

Colin Kaepernick got criticized for kneeling during the national anthem and he may have been blackballed, but Jay-Z can partner up with the NFL and make money? That makes no sense!

Here is Paul Newberry of AP News with more:

Remember when Jay-Z was a dynamic hip-hop artist whose stark lyrics gave voice to the oppressed and downtrodden?
Well, those days are over.
He may have 99 Problems — but a conscience certainly ain’t one.
Completing his transformation to total sellout, Jay-Z climbed into bed with those racial progressives over at the NFL in what was clearly nothing more than a money grab for one side and a public-relations coup for the other.

Everyone is jumping down Jay-Z's throat for trying to actually do something with his platform. People are acting like he hasn't done anything to help the Black community before, but he has done plenty.

He did a Trayvon Martin documentary series and is making an effort to build on the conversation Kaepernick started; he is getting league support in substantial actions to help the Black community.

People need to have a little more faith in Jay-Z and what he can do to help.
