Who will have the better NFL career: Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence?
Throw potential out of the window. What matters is what you put on tape and no one had a better tape in 2019 than LSU's stud quarterback.
Joe Burrow put up record numbers en route to the Heisman Trophy. He broke the single-season record for passing touchdowns and touchdowns responsible for, and set the SEC record for passing yards. Not only did he pile up the awards and stats, he won and won a lot.
LSU went undefeated in the regular season playing one of the toughest schedules in the country and won the national champion. Burrow has the arm talent and the winning demeanor to become one of the best players in the NFL. Lawrence has nothing on him.
People are enthralled with a hot name right now, but the college game is not the pro game. Success at the next level is not guaranteed especially when you don't have the physical tools to succeed. Trevor Lawrence has shown the tools at a young age to be one of the greatest to step on the field.
Lawrence has ridiculous arm strength and can throw with accuracy from the pocket and while scrambling. The thing that really separates him is elite quarterback speed that allowed him to outrun safeties and even cornerbacks at the college level. Not only does he have a national championship under his belt, but he also has won multiple awards with his dynamic play, including first-team All-ACC.
He might not have the individual accolades Burrow does, but Lawrence has a better future in the NFL.
