Who is the midseason NFL MVP: Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson?
This past offseason, Aaron Rodgers had to learn a new offense with a new head coach. During the season, he's been without his best receiver for four weeks and still has his team at the top of the division halfway through the season. That's a true MVP.
Through nine weeks, Green Bay's QB1 is also top five in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Despite all of the adversity, Rodgers has been one of the best players in the league. He deserves the midseason title.
The "Lamar Jackson is a running back" crowd sure is quiet all of a sudden. Then again, leading your team to the top of the AFC North halfway through the season with both passing and running will do that.
Jackson is blossoming in his second year, reaching the top five in QBR at the halfway point of the regular season with 12 passing scores against five interceptions. He is also No. 10 in the entire NFL in rushing yards and No. 12 in rushing touchdowns, while also leading the league in rushing yards per attempt.
Aaron Rodgers has been good, but Lamar Jackson has been spectacular.
