Who's the better dunker: Vince Carter or Michael Jordan?
Vince Carter may not have the championships Michael Jordan has, but he has some ridiculous dunks that M.J. could only dream of. Carter had arguably the best dunk contest performance ever in 2000 with an array of creative dunks that still lights up social media every time it is posted. But he wasn't just a contest dunker.
In games, Carter had a bag of tricks he could break out at any moment. He could be explosive, literally jumping over a 7'0" man. He could be flexible, contorting his body in odd angles around defenders.
When it comes to dunking, no one was more complete with height and creativity than Carter.
You want to talk about creativity? Vince Carter would not have been Vince Carter without Michael Jordan paving the way. His Airness showed the world how beautiful the dunk could be, flying throw the air with grace and finishing with power. His freaky athleticism allowed him to jump as high as he could and figure out what to do midair, which was on full display during his back-to-back dunk contest wins.
In the game, Jordan had power that was unstoppable. It didn't matter if prime Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing or Alonzo Mourning were in front of him; he was going over the top or through them. And these are Hall of Fame-caliber shot blockers!
Carter at his peak was great, but no one can top the G.O.A.T.
