Best grumpy coach of the year: Gregg Popovich or Bill Belichick?
It's the end of the year! And we're facing-off the best songs, albums, movies, TV shows, video games, sports, pro athletes and entertainers of 2017. The "Best of 2017" is chosen by a combination of popularity, impact, acclaim, rankings and/or amount sold. But ultimately, we want you to let us know who and what from 2017 won the year in each category.
Head coaches had to deal with a lot of bad questions and annoying reporters, but they've always comeback with a great quip or a smart-ass remark. In this debate, we want to know who you think is the best grumpy coach—Greg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs or Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots?
And don't forget to cast your vote for these other end of year debates:
Whoever you are, don't be caught asking a stupid question around Popovich. He will always call you out, and never let you live it down. His gruff, dry delivery causes a lot of awkward silences, but it only adds to his charm as a lovable curmudgeon. Plus, there are the rants where he is legitimately pissed off. Still, no matter how angry he might sound, he is still the best grumpy coach in the game.
Belichick doesn't really mince words when presented with a dumb question. Not only that, he seemingly withholds information from the media. He unapologetically shuts down anything that might be hard on his team. We all have that uncle who is a little off, but real fans will always see past the rough exterior to the man who just loves his team.
