Who's the NBA Rookie of the Year: Trae Young or Luka Doncic?
Trae Young has put in the work after being considered too small to immediately succeed in the NBA. He has put that criticism to bed with some huge games.
The rookie out of Lubbock, Texas has shown his offensive game can translate to the pro level, putting on dazzling scoring displays and the ability to distribute the ball. He earned Rookie of the Month in February after averaging 23.3 points and 9.3 assists per game. He followed that up with a 49-8-16 performance to start off March and has only proven he belongs in the league.
Doncic might be more popular, but Young has put in work and should be Rookie of the Year.
Luka Doncic has been unquestionably the most valuable rookie the entire year and it's not even close.
He leads all rookies in scoring and is averaging the most minutes of any first-year player. He played most of the season as a teenager and has done nothing but dominate grown men. Young may have had a great month, but Doncic has had a more impressive season.
There is no other choice for Rookie of the Year other than Cool Hand Luke.
