Is Jeremy Lin a starter in the NBA?

Jeremy Lin is on the move again, heading to the Atlanta Hawks via trade. The Harvard grad is entering his ninth season in the league and has shown the ability to be a solid starting point guard in the NBA and could be in the mix for that role with the Hawks. However, with Lin’s ability to score and push the ball, he may be better suited as a sixth man in Atlanta. What do you think? 🏀

Jeremy Lin doesn't have to prove anything to be a starter in the NBA. Beyond his Linsanity days with the New York Knicks, Lin has shown he can compete with any starting point guard in the NBA.

Lin is averaging 14.3 points and 5.6 assists per game as a starter for his career. The only thing stopping the undrafted guard from starting are coaches who won't give him the opportunity. He belongs on the floor as a starter.

Jeremy Lin has always been a good penetrator and, as his career progressed, he has extended his range beyond the three-point line. However, his game is better suited for coming off the bench. He was great with the Charlotte Hornets in the same role. Lin is always pushing the ball and can be a great offensive spark off the bench.

Lin could be like Manu Ginobili, a great sixth man who comes in, buries the other teams' second unit, and play critical minutes in the fourth quarter. Being a starter is overrated. All that matters is getting playing time, and having the coach trust you with the game on the line. Plus, Lin coming back from a serious knee injury. Minutes off the bench wouldn't hurt.
