Who won the Mike Conley trade: Jazz or Grizzles?
The Western Conference just got another contender.
Mike Conley gives the Utah Jazz the veteran point guard they need with two of their best players hitting their primes. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert have led the team to the playoffs, but with Conley's All-Defensive caliber play and ability to score 20 points per game, the Jazz got a piece that can guide them past the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers with Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
The Jazz ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring defense, and with Conley, they can go to the NBA Finals. Utah won this trade.
Mike Conley was a great player for the Grizzlies, but his price tag became too high.
$67 million is due to Conley the next two seasons. With that money off the books, the Grizzlies can now rebuild and have plenty of assets to do it. With another first-round pick this year and another one in the future, Memphis can build their team as they see fit with plenty of flexibility.
The Jazz got Conley at 31 years old with a big price tag. They're not getting past the Golden State or Los Angeles. The Grizzlies won the trade.
