Basketball fans living in the past can keep Dennis Rodman. The era of specialization is over and Draymond Green is the overall threat you can really depend on in the modern NBA.

Green is a stat stuffer. Not only will he rebound the ball, but he is also a great playmaker and competent scorer when needed. Dennis Rodman never had an offensive game that could be spoken of other than cleaning other people's mess around the basket. At least Green could shoot the ball at times while still giving you elite defense.

Rodman only had one triple-double in his career while Draymond is routinely a threat to achieve them. That kind of versatility can't be passed on. Teams would take Green over Rodman any day.

Modern NBA fans have no idea how dominant Rodman was on the defensive side of the ball. It's like MLB's Mariano Rivera only needing one pitch. If someone was in front of him with the ball, they were going to struggle to do anything. His length and endless energy drove him two Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Aside from his suffocating defense, Rodman was a nightmare on the boards. If the ball was up, he was coming down with it. Rodman led the NBA in rebound seven times and all seven times he nabbed at least 15 rebounds a game. Rodman never needed an offensive game to impact the game.

Draymond might have a cute, backpack jumper that falls every so often, but you can't pass on Hall of Fame defense and rebounding that's only bested by Bill Russell. Smart teams would choose Rodman all day.
