Missouri Tigers forward Michael Porter Jr. declared for the NBA Draft. It's not surprising given that he was the arguably the best college recruit of 2017, but he only played in three games this year. Many feel another year of development would give him a higher draft position and more exposure. Others feel he is already NBA-ready and needs to maximize his earning potential as soon as possible. What do you think? 🏀

What do people really know about Michael Porter Jr. after three games? Nothing. What NBA scouts do know is that back surgery is not a great thing to have on your resume as a 19-year-old. That is a stigma that is following Porter around. His body is not ready for the rigors of an NBA season.

Porter should stay with Mizzou one more year to show NBA teams he is healthy enough to grind out a season. It'll improve his draft stock and make him more appealing down the road. The NBA will always be there. Porter shouldn't rush to jump in.

If you have a lottery ticket, there is no use in waiting to cash it. That is what Michael Porter Jr. essentially has. He stands to make millions of dollars guaranteed if he goes to the NBA this year. There is no sense in risking a serious injury in college when he could have been making enough money to support himself and his family.

Porter obviously has NBA skills and looked good when he was on the court. There is no need for him to stay at Missouri anymore. Going to the NBA is a good decision.
