The NBA 2K series has been a staple of the sports video game landscape for a decade now. With its in-depth story and franchise mode, gamers have the chance to live out their dreams of being an NBA player or running their own team. NBA 2K18 will be the latest game released by the franchise, and it is going to be the best one.
The dribbling, which was a problem in 2K17, will be much improved. The developers somehow managed to improve the realistic graphics from the last year's version, with more defined muscles and smoother animations. Add that to a stellar list of features, and you have a game worth every penny for hoop heads everywhere.
NBA 2K was a great series—a couple of years ago. After the train wreck of 2K17, it's hard to put any trust in the 2K franchise to get anything right. They might put some shiny new toys and slick graphics, but it doesn't cover up the turd that will be NBA 2K18.
2K used to put out great games, but like every sports game before, it has a lot to live up to. After a while, the gameplay gets stale, and there's nothing new in the product from year-to-year to generate any real interest. You also have to pay more money after buying the game in order to have the most fun. NBA 2K18 might be a solid simulation, but that does not justify the price tag for a tired game.
