Should Ichiro Suzuki just retire now?

The Seattle Mariners announced Ichiro Suzuki would be transitioning to a front office role for the remainder of the 2018 season. But he still is open to returning to the field in 2019. After having accomplished so much in his long career, many feel Ichiro should stop prolonging the inevitable and just retire. Still, with a chance to play in Tokyo with the Mariners next year and an opportunity to climb up the total hits list, he still has plenty to reason to come back. What do you think? ⚾

Suzuki currently has 3,089 hits, a .311 career batting average, two batting titles and an AL MVP. He also holds the record for most hits in a single season. He's already a legend and deserves to retire in peace.

If Suzuki isn't ready to call it quits, he shouldn't have to. With the Mariners scheduled to have a couple of games in Tokyo next season, he deserves the chance to play in his home country and retire afterward. Plus, MLB fans aren't ready to say goodbye. People need to treasure Suzuki as long as they can.
