What else is there left to say about a player is generally recognized as one of the greatest of all time? Mike Trout led the American League in on-base percentage, slugging, home runs, RBIs and walks heading into the All-Star break. Even though he gets every pitchers' best shot, he is still consistently winning his matchups and putting the Angels in position to win.

Here is Mike Axisa from CBS Sports with more:

At age 27, Trout has already achieved Mariano Rivera god-like status, meaning every year a player or two puts up Mike Trout numbers, but no one has been able to sustain it over the long-term. I've certainly claimed someone else may soon be the best player in baseball, foolishly. Trout is a legend and our unanimous midseason MVP.

Cody Bellinger had a rough 2018 season trying to follow up on his Rookie of the Year campaign. This year, it seems he has worked out the kinks.

He currently leads the National League in offensive WAR, WAR among position players and overall WAR. His overall game has blossomed and he is right there with Trout in terms of overall value.

Here is Michael Baumann of The Ringer with more:

Bellinger is walking more than ever, striking out less, and hitting for a higher average and more power than ever. Yes, the guy who hit 39 homers as a rookie and looks like he could throw a moose over a house has developed even more power in his third season in the majors. Bellinger has also transformed into a superb defensive right fielder, maybe the best in baseball.
