It's been 23 years since Michael Jordan played the infamous "flu game" where he helped the Bulls go up 3-2 against the Utah Jazz in the 1997 NBA Finals while playing under the weather. The game was a focal point in ESPN's "The Last Dance" and Jordan dispelled the rumors by saying he was suffering from food poisoning from the pizza he had the night before. Others find the explanation suspect and still believe he was hungover from the night before. What do you think? 🏀

Michael Jordan is one of the most secretive NBA icons ever. And we love him for it. He builds mystique and there is no reason to break it and lie about the cause of a legendary game if he doesn't have to. If he says he had food poisoning, there is no reason to believe he had anything but that.

Food poisoning happens all of the time, even to NBA players. If Jordan had a hangover, he had all day to recover from it. You can't recover from food poisoning as easily. It shouldn't be hard to believe that is the true account. People just want an excuse to have a conspiracy theory be true.

Tylt sports editor Dan Tran talks with The Ringer staff writer Tyler Tynes about the Air Jordans and the lasting legacy it has left on the sneaker game.

"Food poisoning," huh? That's awfully convenient considering how much Michael Jordan partied and was still able to put up incredible performances. It's believable that he did have a pizza that night, but what was he doing before that pizza?

Multiple people have come out before "The Last Dance" and said Jordan was suffering from a hangover. Former NBA player Jalen Rose was on. Jody Genessy of the Deseret News via Dan Feldman went as far as to say a reliable source told her a Bulls PR person said he was in Las Vegas the night before.

It's one thing if one person says it, but when multiple people hear the same thing, there is truth in that. No matter what anyone says, Jordan had a hangover before Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals.
