Mexico handed Germany its first World Cup opening match loss since 1982, back when the Berlin Wall was still a thing and the squad represented West Germany. This was also only Mexico's second win against the Germans, with the first coming against Germany's "B" team in last year's Confederations Cup. Mexico's victory was so great, it may have shaken the earth. UMBC can't say anything like that. Mexico had the biggest upset of the year.
