After years of dealing with unfortunate injuries, unlucky twists of fate and being unable to retain top players, the curse is finally lifted. The Mets have suffered through some rough times, but if there's any sign that their luck is turning, it's getting their ace back for another five years.
The curse is gone and the team can make another deep playoff run with two of the best starting pitchers in the league. It's time to rejoice, Mets fans!
The Mets may have retained their best pitcher but if you put a diamond on a turd, it still stinks. The Mets have way too many problems to think any sort of curse has been lifted from the team.
New York was second to last in the league in batting average and eighth worst in run production. More importantly, the Mets had the second most man games lost. That lack of consistency is what the Mets really need to fix.
Until they figure out how to stay healthy, the team will always be cursed.
