He might not have had the power Ken Griffey Jr. had, but Ichiro was just as valuable. The first Japanese position player ever took little time making an impact in the league, winning both Rookie of the Year and MVP honors in 2001.

He also earned the MLB batting title twice, finished with over 500 stolen bases and 3,089 hits in the MLB alone. Not only did he have one of the best bats in the league, but he also had a cannon in right field and elite speed that earned him 10 Gold Gloves.

Griffey may have been the first love of many Mariners fans, but Ichiro is the franchise's greatest player now.

When it comes to the Seattle Mariners, there's only one G.O.A.T. and it's The Kid.

Ken Griffey Jr. was the first overall pick for a struggling Mariners crew and started wrecking the league as soon as he was called up. He wowed the crowd with his smooth fielding, making extraordinary plays look routine, earning him 10 Gold Gloves with the team. Blessed with one of the sweetest swings of all time, Griffey finished his career with 630 home runs and four home run crowns.

Ichiro might be one of the greatest Mariners, but he left the team in free agency. Griffey was traded away only to come back a couple of years later. He is truly loyal and greatest franchise player ever.
