The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked with Paul George as a potential match for a couple years. After the Thunder was eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs this year, it appears George is destined to come back home to play for his hometown team. Still, Oklahoma City has more developed talent than Los Angeles, and he could be closer to a championship with the Thunder. Will George be in L.A. soon? 🏀

Paul George wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. This is not a secret. In fact, George made it obvious that his hometown team was his number one destination. It's only a matter of time before that happens, whether it's at the trade deadline or free agency in the summer.

The all-star forward wouldn't be walking into a no-win situation. The Lakers have a group of talented young players who are growing together. Lonzo Ball already has a good feel for the game and is getting more comfortable with every game he plays. Kyle Kuzma is looking like an all-star and Brandon Ingram is starting to make a name for himself.

There are plenty of reasons George will be wearing a purple and gold uniform next season.

The Thunder are built to win now. Sure, they may have lost in the first round of the playoffs, but playing with Russell Westbrook gives George the best chance to win a championship. He's already built a rapport with the team and he's become a great complimentary piece to the aggressive Westbrook. George is in a great situation in Oklahoma City, playing with one of the best players in the NBA on a perennial playoff team. The Lakers have neither of those right now

The NBA is about winning, and players won't walk away from a good situation just to play at home. George will be looking to stay on a team that is ready to win now in the summer.
