Should Luke Walton be fired?

The Los Angeles Lakers have been marred by inconsistent play that reached a new low when the team lost by 42 points against the Indiana Pacers early in February. Some fans feel Luke Walton lost the team long ago, his sketchy rotations are starting to catch up with him and the team needs to fire him. Others think Walton isn't the problem and just needs time to get these different pieces playing together. What do you think? 🏀

LeBron James has never lost a game by 42 points...until he played under Luke Walton.

Even with one of the best players, Walton has managed to drag the team down outside of the playoff picture. Walton is still coasting off the success he had when he had three All-Stars in Golden State and hasn't proven he can consistently motivate a team. His 88-130 record is an indicator of that. Now there are reports his best player's camp want him out.

If he can't get the job done with James on the roster, he needs to go.

People jumping down Walton's throat love to ignore the fact that he's had a hurt roster the entire season. James, Rajon Rondo, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram have missed significant time and that has obviously affected rotations. It's tough to manage all of that and develop team chemistry. Rumors of a rift between he and James are probably exaggerated.

The juries still out on Walton, but he shouldn't be fired when things out of his control are hurting the team.
