Who would win 2-on-2: LeBron James-Anthony Davis or Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O'Neal? | The Tylt
This year's iteration of the Los Angeles Lakers is drawing a lot of praise with their dynamic duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James leading the team to the best record in the NBA through 27 games. Their success has them being compared to another dangerous pair in Lakers' history: Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. James and Davis thrive with their versatile skillsets while Bryant and O'Neal dominated with a devastating inside-outside game. Who would win a game of 2-on-2? 🏀
Who would win 2-on-2: LeBron James-Anthony Davis or Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O'Neal?
Basketball is position-less now more than ever and no two players may be more built for it than the current Lakers duo. LeBron James may be the best overall player ever and Anthony Davis is a shooting guard in a center's body.
The two are combining for 53.3 points, 16.7 rebounds and about 14 assists this season as of December 19. They are leading a unit that is second in the league in points allowed. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal were great, but there is no way they can deal with James' and Davis' all-around game and positionless defensive prowess.
The 2019 duo would take down Bryant and O'Neal.
One question for the James-Davis crowd: Who's stopping O'Neal?
The Big Diesel may have been the most unstoppable physical force in the entire NBA. Once he got you on his back, it was an automatic two points. And if he got doubled, he had one of the greatest scorers of all time helping him out in the perimeter. It's been a while since people really witnessed the dominance of Bryant and O'Neal on the same team, but when they were on, no one could stop them. The duo won three championships together and that kind of success can't be ignored.
Throw recency bias out of the window and people will realize Bryant and Shaq could beat anyone 2-on-2.
