Cristiano Ronaldo made his Juventus debut against the Juventus U-21 team in an exhibition and scored a goal. Some think his presence and skill can take the team over the top to win a Champions League Final, a goal they have fallen short of in recent years. Others think there are other teams with more overall talent who will prevent Juventus from being crowned the best team in Europe. What do you think? ⚽

Anytime you add the arguably the best player in the world, you instantly improve your chances at major championships. Ronaldo's brilliance is enough to carry Juventus to a Champions League title. Here is Italian soccer legend Paolo Maldini with more:

It's maybe reductive [to say Juventus need Ronaldo to win in Europe], but if you think about the final between Juventus and Real Madrid, he scored twice...If he had been on the opposite side, it could have gone differently.

Ronaldo may be one of the best players in the world, but he won't solve every problem of the team. Not only does he have to gel with his teammates, he has to contend with other teams with more overall talent who have already had years to come together. This includes his former team who has the other best player in the world and a dominating squad that won their league by 19 points. Ronaldo is good, but he's not good enough to the carry this team to a Champions League title.
