Johnny Manziel has been formally indicted on misdemeanor domestic violence charge following an assault on ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley back in January.

The charges are only the latest set of issues Manziel is facing in his troubled career. The former Cleveland Browns quarterback has struggled with an addiction problem after showing promise as the 22nd NFL draft pick only two years ago. Now he's a free agent trying to make a comeback.

While some are hopeful he can make a comeback, others are fine seeing him fade away. Some star rookies just don't pan out. Even if he gets his game back, Manziel might not be worth the PR disaster as the misdemeanor charges move forward in the courts.

Is Manziel's career already over or can he redeem himself?

The Votes Are In!
Browns beatwriter Mary Kay Cabot elaborated and said Manziel needs to hit rock bottom.
Many critics say Manziel's career is over, and it's his own fault.
Some fans believe he will get clean too.
Some critics aren’t buying that he can make a comeback.
Other critics called out those who are in support of Manziel after he assaulted his ex.
Jeopardy Sports called out Manziel's problematic behavior as well.
Assault charges aside, some supporters feel he can make his comeback.
Some are on the fence about a comeback though.
The New York Times called out both the NFL and fans for contributing to the downfalls of athletes like Manziel.
Manziel's lead lawyer says he will be acquitted. Jim Darnell told USA Sports in a statement: "Johnny will certainly plead 'not guilty' and we believe the evidence will support that plea. Out of respect for Ms. (Colleen) Crowley, we will not try the case in the press. We do, however, believe that Johnny will be acquitted at the conclusion of the case.”
