Is Jimmy Butler coming back to the Sixers?

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jimmy Butler authored a thank you post on Instagram, sending Sixers fans into panic mode as it might have been Butlers last moments in Philly. While he did have some success in the City of Brotherly Love, there are other teams that might be a better fit for the All-Star. Still, the Sixers can offer the most money of any team in free agency, and he almost got into the Eastern Conference Finals with this squad. Is he coming back? 🏀

Welp...it was good while it lasted.

Thank yous don't usually come unless something is finished, and it seems like Jimmy Butler's time in Philadelphia is coming to an end. The Sixers might have had one of the strongest starting fives in the league, but it wasn't enough to even make it to the conference finals. With teams like the Rockets, Lakers and Nets courting him, there are way too many options for him to just stay in Philly.

With the Sixers wanting to lean on Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid more, Butler might not get the same opportunities to be "the guy" as he would on other teams. He's going to be in another city for the 2019-2020 season.

People are really interpreting the worst from this Instagram post. Players thank fans and cities for their support for the past season all of the time. It was pretty obvious he was having a lot of fun in Philadelphia and there is no way he will leave a situation where he knows he can win.

When he, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were on the floor with J.J. Reddick, they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points. That kind of success is hard to leave.

Butler has a good thing going in Philly. He should stay.
