MLB says umpires call 97 percent of pitches accurately, but a 2016 episode of HBO's “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” claims they actually screw up 1 out of every 8 pitches. That adds up to 30,000 mistakes per year. In a game where every single out matters, and the technology already exists to track pitches, fans want to dump umps. But purists say human error has been part of the game for over 170 years and it would be sacrilegious to make the change. What do you think? ⚾
