Is Floyd Mayweather only fighting Conor McGregor for the money?
Pretty convenient that it took a million years to get the Manny Pacquiao fight organized, and yet with the IRS breathing down his neck, Mayweather and Conor McGregor get the most highly anticipated fight done with no problems...wonder why. There's nothing Floyd Mayweather loves more than money.
Don't believe that statement? Just take a look at his Instagram feed, which is mostly Mayweather flaunting his wealth.
With the government coming after his precious money, there is no way Mayweather was just doing this fight for the pride of the sport. He needs one last payday to get the feds off his back and, more importantly, his cash.
There is no doubt that Floyd Mayweather is due to make hundreds of millions of dollars from his fight against Conor McGregor. However, Mayweather loves boxing, and he will take any chance to prove he's the best. Putting up his perfect record against an unknown opponent is a risk, no matter how you cut it. However, a shot to finish his career with 50 wins against a hyped opponent is enough to get the competitive juices flowing.
Underneath the flamboyant lifestyle is a boxer who cares about his place in the sport. This was not a fight strictly made for the money.
