NASCAR driver Danica Patrick’s run in the sport may be coming to end. Patrick announced she is not returning to the Stewart-Haas team in 2018 due to a sponsorship arrangement. Stock car racing isn’t for everyone, and she should find something better suited for her talent instead of grinding through a sport where she has not performed well. Still, plenty of drivers have found success after 35, and Patrick is still is a source of inspiration for many women in the country. What do you think? 🏎

Danica Patrick's statement regarding her future with Stewart-Haas.

There's a reason some racers avoid stock car racing—not everyone can do it. Danica Patrick was a decent driver in Indy Car, but stock car is something she just can't handle. In 180 NASCAR starts, she only has seven top-10 finishes. She didn't win any money in last year's Sprint Cup and hasn't won any prize money this year neither. The writing is on the wall; Patrick is simply not good enough to race in NASCAR.

There are plenty of opportunities for her to race elsewhere. Indy Car could certainly be a destination since she had some success there. Patrick gave NASCAR a fair shot, and it gave her a chance. But if she can't get the results, she shouldn't be in the sport.

Danica Patrick is a fighter. She shows that on the track every time she steps into a car. A loss of sponsorship should stop her from keeping up with the other drivers in NASCAR. Part of Patrick's charm is her never quit attitude. She should continue to claw and grind until she finds success in NASCAR. She is the source of inspiration for many NASCAR fans. Young women see her presence in the sport as a source of pride. There is too much on the line for her to quit.

Bobby Allison, Dale Jarrett, and Kevin Harvick all won their first titles after the age of 38. There is no reason to believe Patrick can't make her way to the top, and peak later in her NASCAR career. She's broken so many barriers before, it wouldn't be a surprise. Patrick needs to stay in NASCAR.
