Is Adrian Peterson getting a fair chance in New Orleans?
Peterson is 32 years old. In running back years, he might as well be 50. He didn't do anything to dispel the perception he lost his ability to run the ball with an 18-yard performance against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. Peterson was also seen exchanging words with Sean Payton on the sideline. If he did more than three yards a carry, he would have gotten more opportunities. He has been a poor fit with the New Orleans Saints, and the money they threw at him is not worth the trouble or the lack of production. They should've never brought him in.
Peterson may be long in the tooth, but he is also a freak of nature who came back just months from having ACL surgery to have one of his best seasons. If anyone can be productive at 32 years old, it's him. The former Oklahoma Sooner is still a good running back, but he can't show it if he doesn't get the ball. Payton only gave Peterson six carries the entire game. If you want Peterson to beast, you have to actually give him the ball. New Orleans need to readjust, give Peterson the rock and let him wreck defensive players like he always has.
