Who do you trust more: A used car salesman or the Olympic committee?

After a string of controversies and persistent corruption suspicions, the International Olympic Committee doesn't have the most trustworthy reputation. The committee's history of overlooking scandals and curious awarding for host cities makes used car salesmen, who will say anything to get a deal done, look like a more reputable section of the population. Still, this is still the same committee that makes sure the Olympics happen, so they have some credibility. What do you think? ⛷

The Russian performance-enhancing drug scandal was just the latest stain on the International Olympic Committee. Just look at the actions the IOC took after the controversy broke.

The IOC felt compelled to ban the Russian sports minister, Vitaly Mutko, from the Olympics “for life”, though it curiously exonerated Mutko’s Kremlin boss. There is no suggestion of any consequent boycott of Russia’s 2018 football World Cup, also run by Mutko. This is despite dark questions still being asked about how the international football body, Fifa, “awarded” the contest to Moscow, at the same time as the 2022 cup went to Qatar.
Both decisions stank of potential corruption. Fifa yesterday issued a statement supporting Mutko, as if to silence so much as a murmur that his doping activities might have strayed beyond athletics into football.

That is some shady business. The IOC isn't interested in sportsmanship or uniting the world. All it cares about is how it will make more money. A used car salesman would at least have to look you in the eye when they try to screw you.

Say what you will about the IOC, but it isn't made up of the greasy, slicked-back hair wearing, smooth-talking degenerates that sell used cars. These people would say anything if it meant you were driving off in a lemon at the end of the day. Their doublespeak and straight up lies are an affront to everything that is ethical and moral in the business world. At least the IOC is held accountable to some extent. Car salesmans play by their own rules.
